GKA worked closely with Jay Peak Resort to renovate and repurpose the well-worn Austria Haus to better meet guests’ current needs and comfort. New exterior architectural details and updated finishes enhance the original character of one of the oldest Jay Peak Resort buildings. Accent roofs are designed to inform and invite passersby into the new Provisions market. Achieved increased access and visibility to guests, increased energy efficiency by improving the building envelope and updated mechanical and electrical systems to meet the current energy and building codes. Originally an administrative office building, Provisions is now a fresh-foods market and dry goods store with a beverage cave, fresh made food, coolers, and deli kitchen. Interior custom millwork includes a built-in eating bar, deli counter, and retail display shelving. The International Room received a makeover highlighting a redesigned bar, fresh interior finishes, new ADA-compliant restrooms, and updated lighting.
